Job Description |

Principal Research Officer. An oil palm agronomist and responsible for overseeing AAR’s oil palm agronomy research programme, GPS/GIS mapping including height and relief survey (using land survey equipment) and AAR’s land evaluation and soil survey department. Was in-charged of both the technical and commercial product AA+Mulch™ although only the former now. Focused on carrying out oil palm nutritional studies especially on efficient use of phosphate in oil palms, its potential recycling via various legume systems as well as fine-tuning the optimum rates of phosphate in various agro-management conditions. Also has interests in carrying out other oil palm nutritional studies including both field planted palms and nurseries. A certified RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) auditor and have carried out RSPO audits. In addition, also interested on environmental and waste issues paying special attention to new clearings and replanting of old trees to streamline current practices in the light of sustainable development.

My current research interest are:

(i) Phosphate nutrition on oil palms and legumes emphasizing on phosphate recycling. This part of the research is being carried out in collaboration with IMPHOS (World Phosphate Institute) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

(ii) Oil palm agronomy especially oil palm nurseries.

||
(iii) Labour saving devices with emphasis on usage of AA+MulchTM.
