Research Officer. Biotechnologist based in AAR-UNMC Biotechnology Research Centre, a joint research centre between Advanced Agriecological Research Sdn Bhd (AAR) and University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC). Her key role is to provide knowledge and resources that plant breeders, tissue culturists and agronomists can use to improve the oil palm breeding selection and sustainability of production.

Active research interests include: (1) Using microsatellite (SSR) for genotyping AAR’s planting materials, as well as identity checking analysis. (2) Understanding the processes and genes that control agronomic trait variation which allow more efficient oil palm breeding, assessment of mineral nutrient uptake and pathogen/disease control strategies. (3) Developing molecular tools to facilitate the screening of oil palm tissue culture amenabilities (embryogenesis) and somaclonal variant/abnormalities |
